My Experience with Partha's Parasite SEO Course

the Dreaded 410
Hey Don,

I have no proof, but I'm wondering whether post frequency plays a part in raising red flags. A legit, solo writer would struggle to get more than a couple of well-researched articles online daily, I'd imagine.

So a fresh account posting 3-5 new reviews every day?

Partha advised to make the majority of your posts informational (maybe 80:20).

... and I'd avoid forcing affiliate links down people's necks! ie: keep them subtle, in-context links.

@rohanm I don't think quantity is a problem.

On my "real" Medium account, where I make money through their Partner Program, I have often added up to 5 posts per day, and actually, the limit is 15.

I have had 2 accounts banned at Medium.

We can only theorize on the issues, but we assume the first time was because I was promoting a sexual health product.

I don't really understand that, because there is a whole sub-genre of erotica on Medium, and the stories are very graphic, and the images, are borderline porn!

Who knows?

With the second account, there were lots of members all banned on the same day, all apparently promoting the big name products, such as Java Burn, entirely reviews, nothing informational.

So, I would guess that Medium had a crackdown, targeting blatant promotions.

Moving forward, the answer seems to be, add a mix of informational posts, so the account doesn't look spammy, and pick products that have some popularity, but are not the obvious best-sellers.

@diane Thanks Diane that's good to know!

I also had my Medium account suspended last Wednesday (is that the same as banned?) so I'm looking at LinkedIn now and some other web 2.0s as well.

My posts were about 50/50 informational vs reviews.

Once I've got my head around LinkedIn I'll probably get back on Medium and keep it 80:20 I think. Plus, as you say, avoid promoting the products every other parasite SEO is promoting!

Just got to keep going :-)

... and then something like this is up for 9 months so far https://medium.com/@shamond54/glucoberry-reviews-understand-more-price-ingredients-benefits-7cf4ca08839a

@rohanm Maybe that account escaped notice because there is literally only the one review posted to it?

I agree that it looks like Medium had a bit of a crackdown over the past couple weeks ... I think Diane's advice is sound:

"Moving forward, the answer seems to be, add a mix of informational posts, so the account doesn't look spammy, and pick products that have some popularity, but are not the obvious best-sellers."

As an aside, researching a product I found this guy: (8) Activity | Partha Sarathi | LinkedIn

It looks like ALL ClickBank product reviews on LinkedIn. And loads of them.

He is on Medium too: Partha Sarathi – Medium

@partha Brilliant! This is dynamite!:collision:

@andy I tried to purchase the course, but it said it couldn’t process the order and to contact the vendor.

@cowboy Something else to note is that Medium recently said they’re against AI posts, so I’m wondering if these accounts are getting flagged as being written by AI?

@expatgen You might enjoy reading this, if you haven't already :)

Medium is for human storytelling, not AI-generated writing | by Scott Lamb | The Medium Blog
my standards for SEO Parasite posts have initially lowered as I go for "volume".
I think shifting the mindset towards more volume is key here. The nice thing about using a well-crafted prompt is you can also maintain pretty high quality, with just a little 'post-production' editing.

When I used to spam the bejesus out of G many moons ago, the mentality was always 'churn and burn'. The nice thing about parasite SEO is you don't get your domain deindexed in the engines. Just set up another account and off you go again ...

{blue}:laughingoutloud:

@expatgen Thanks for reporting this! I was able to manually accept the payment, since it didn’t finalize for some reason. You should have access to the course and group now :slight_smile:

@expatgen A couple of things to note about AI on Medium.

First, they don't automatically run all posts through any kind of checker, as they are notoriously unreliable.

So, they rely on human editors to look at them and spot anything obvious.

But with over 1 million posts published every month, this would be impossible to check them all.

So, typically, it is the editors who work for "publications" who look at posts before they are published.

When submitting posts to a publication, you send them in unpublished, draft format.

So, the editors decide whether to publish them, or not.

If you are not using publications, it is unlikely to be checked.

And even if it is published, and Medium believes it is AI, usually the worst that will happen is that viewing will be restricted to your personal network, not the rest of the platform.

But, doing the Parasite SEO method, we don't care if nobody on Medium sees it, we just want it to rank highly on Google.

So, I don't see it as a problem, and not something that anybody should be worried about.

I linked to the relevant post on the Medium Blog above, but I believe this is Medium's most up-to-date position on AI content. It is consistent with Diane's advice.

"To be clear: Your blog on Medium is your home to publish whatever you want and we imagine that some of you may want to experiment there. So if you’re wondering whether you can still publish fully AI-generated stories for your followers, the answer is yes. However, if you are on Medium looking to find readers from our network, then the answer is no — we will not promote fully AI-generated stories to a broader audience."

@expatgen In my case, no. Not good robot and admitted mistake

@dianeI don’t really understand that, because there is a whole sub-genre of erotica on Medium, and the stories are very graphic, and the images, are borderline porn!”

I sae some of these articles when I was trying to scan Medium and see how it wordks, but not one with this photos you mention.
Maybe you haven´t gone deep enough . {blue}:cool:

But I have one teorí about it. They say that it is only human that have the final look. And it could be, I am guessing, the reason. Because between countries is incredible different view.

I can talk about many movies here in Iceland that are banned under 18 or complete but allowed in the USA under 3 years old.

And about other topic are movies allowed here in Iceland for all but I have seen some of them banned under 18 in Amazon Prime and know about it in USA.

And the human factor, taste/idealogy etc, are soooo different so I am just wondering is that was the case.

That could be as good example why you have the opinion some of the photos are but I´m not, because we are very liberal about these things here in Iceland.

I change a little on Linkedin. Before, in many years, I used it only to get a link to me site.

But when I was invited to a group to help people there, from Linkedin itself, I saw a quick difference in click to WA. And I have never been their affiliate.

So I started thinking if it was possible to have more benefits from it, and I was just sure.
Then come, I am not sure but think it was Partha, with a great idea. He said to let AI write a 3-500 word summary and then more in this post (with the link).
I changed it a little bit. I found Also ask and told AI to write 200-word answers to these questions in my tone (it is easy to let AI talk in your tone). If needed, I added or removed it, but the maximum was 240 words.
And the last paragraph is there are more important things similar to this in the post.

I want to stress it is very, very few test. To few to change things. But at least, this helped me and I got more views from my first posts with this method than in 2-3 weeks before!

@diane Ah, good to know. I’ve only submitted my own written articles there, but got a notice email about them not liking AI a month or two back. You’re right though, it would be a LOT to go through!

@andy Awesome, thank you!

I have enrolled. The first 2 lessons were easy. Though SellHealth rejected me, that sucked. I need to refine my application to get them to accept me. So, sort of on hold, though nothing to say I cannot write posts in the mean time.

Alex

@alexb Hey Alex,

If you go inside the Parasite SEO Course Group (Groups at the top of the page and you've been automatically added), and then have a read of my latest lesson published last week (I think Genesis asked a similar question last week and I linked to the new lesson, but it will be the last lesson published).

Basically, there was a Google Spam Update from approx. 20th June to 27th June, and a number of Medium accounts were getting banned across the board.

I did some research into this and although I can't be certain, it appears that it may be related to certain content, certain products, and how the Medium accounts are potentially being used.

Everything is explained in the most recent lesson 😀
