Amazon changes, what does this even mean for me?

I just got an email from Amazon, can anyone explain to me in simple English what this even means for me hahahaha?

Commission income statement update

undefined

Hello ,

Effective as of 01-Jan-2026, Amazon will change the commissions payable to you in the United States under the Commission Income Statement, incorporated into the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement.

As of that date, all prior rate modifications will be canceled. All your rates will be restored and reverted to the standard rates stated in the Commission Income Statement. Following the amendment and modification provisions of the Operating Agreement, your continued participation in the program following the effective date is your binding acceptance of this rate change notice, which is confidential information under the Operating Agreement.

thanks!

Sometimes, Amazon gives you a custom rate, a temporary boost, or a special deal. Maybe, for one category, you could earn 4%, instead of the standard 2%, etc. That’s now ending, and you will get what all other affiliates get!

all right, clear, thanks! (ugh, by the way, they are so vague)

Yeah, I get these emails all the time - especially “if you promote XYZ, you can get 8% instead of 4%” (though they are more vague than that). I want to reply back to them one of these days with something like “Thanks, but I’m not in that niche! Can you upgrade ABC products so I can promote them?”. lol

hahaha indeed. I’m surprised they still do the shipping revenue bonuses, though, think I’m getting a good one for December.
