So, tomorrow, May 13 at 10 AM PT (6 PM here in the UK), openai.com will be streaming live to demo some ChatGPT and GPT-4 updates.
Rumours suggest, it could be their own search engine, or ChatGPT-5, or widespread availability of Sora, their text-to-video model.

@diane Which one are you hoping they show?
I hope it's a search engine. Something to take Google down a peg or two. But many are saying OpenAI just don't have the infrastructure to challenge the big G.

@andy I am truly impressed by the quality of their AI images, so if they could create videos to that standard, it would be a “game-changer,” (to use their own words, lol.)

If you didn't watch the live stream of the OpenAI announcement, here is the replay on YouTube.

Here are some of the key moments:
Free ChatGPT users to get access to custom chatbots for the first time
A new, more efficient GPT-4o model will power the free and paid versions
GPT-4o is multimodal by design, able to analyze image, video and speech
The multimodal model will power a new ChatGPT Voice that is more human-like
ChatGPT Desktop app launching with voice and vision capabilities
Everything gradually launching over the coming weeks I notice it is already available in my (paid) account, but I haven't yet tried it.
Thanks for the summary Diane. I was all excited, expecting to hear news of gpt search ... oh well 😢
