I don't know why, but I'm not keen on Canva. So in my quest for an alternative I just stumbled across https://www.photopea.com/ ... pretty handy!
If you try it, let me know what you think :-)

I have tried it previously, and basically, it mimics Photoshop, so if anybody is familiar with that, photopea follows the same processes, but for free!

Maybe that's why I took to it quickly ;-)
For an AI option, you can also try https://chat.qwen.ai/
Here's an example where I created the original image with Imagen, and asked Qwen to change the breed of dog.
@diane Cool! I tried this with a pic of my wife and told it to remove something from the background. It got removed but also changed my wife’s face into someone I didn’t recognize. Lol
@gtrman15 ha ha ha! If only
(joke)
@diane the main problem I was facing was generating a specific image size (Reddit banner). GPT and Sora fail dismally ... they just can't create a 1092 x 346 image or whatever it is!
The closest I could get was a 3:2 using a custom GPT. So popped that into Photopea and modified the canvas to the appropriate size ;-)
@rohanm Yes, most image generators have standard sizes only. ChatGPT says it can do it, then produces nothing like it, lol.
