John from Sweden here, I am a former native Texan, moved up here with my Swedish wife and two sons after retiring from 36 years at sea.
I’ve NO experience whatsoever in digital anything, and am hoping to learn a thing or two from the plethora of diverse wisdom in this community. I’ve become mildly excited about affiliate marketing and selling PDF books online, but I have only insight from what I’ve read, not guidance on how to apply it. I’m not the most tech-savvy person when it comes to the language.
So I am hoping to attain that from anyone willing to share this.
I was recommended by a friend’s widow from Trenton, NJ, who said her husband (my friend of 47 years) spent hours supplementing their retirement income by doing this and allowed him to help others through his help guides, which he sold.
Well, that’s me laid bare, and I am sincerely looking forward to being a part of the community through growth and more knowledge.

Affiliate marketing can be very lucrative and I think the nicest thing about it is you don’t have to deal with humans .. ha ha! All you need to do is be the middleman.
There’s a lot to learn though and with that in mind, the DMC Team here on the forum offer a 100% free beginners PDF. It’s a great place to begin, with the goal being to give you a solid grounding in affiliate marketing.

Thank you for the warm welcome! As I mentioned to Andy, I am completely illiterate to all this digital stuff, and yet still have a draw to what I know nothing about. I am interested in working with digital products, e-books etc, the affiliate side seemed a bit overwhelming. I unfortunately will need hand holding through this as just what to, how to, where to, who to, link to is a whole other sphere to me. I already have an idea for a book, but it’s like having a car and not knowing where to drive it. Any assistance or input in the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Can I suggest that rather than starting with a full book, you pick something smaller, to test the water, and to get used to the workflow? Otherwise, you might get overwhelmed and give up!

I am going to look at this asap; sorry for the late response. My dead-end job consists of a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. schedule. I have a passion for cooking, but was really interested in my mom’s salads and her from-scratch dressings and sauces ALL 50 of them. My folks had a steak and seafood restaurant from 1941 to 1982. It wouldn’t be a one-story cookbook, though; all her methods are soundly in my mind, so I could definitely divide them up as help to single mothers, busy housewives, and busy career women fulfilling both sides, along with single fathers- I’m thinking these could greatly ease meal prep for all as well.
12 to 15 pages each maybe? I found my mother’s shopping list one day in one of the many moving boxes; it was all the salad items she was going to use for the following 3 weeks, and it was dated 5 February 1944. Could reconstitute that and give as an offer maybe? I don’t know; I’m overexcited about things that I know nothing about (Selling things digitally), but I hold an abundant treasure of legacy knowledge left to me by two great parents. I’m going to look at your post;
I am anxious to see what gems could get me going! It’s 6:19 p.m. here now, so I have 3.5 hrs to read it and absorb the contents and the vernacular of what this is all about.
This sounds like something you could squeeze plenty of content out of. I would say you’re up against stiff competition in the recipes market … but that is usually a good thing, if you can stand out from the crowd and grab a piece of this crowded niche.
