Hey There! I've been busy!

Hey all,

I’ve cleared away the cobwebs, and emptied the trash…hahaha.

I created a few things I’d like some feedback on if you are interested.

The Great Idea Spinner - select a topic, decide what or how you want to use it, and spin the wheel to end up with a usable product, from website to checklist.

For those pesky alt-text needed for images? No problem, I created a tool, upload an image, and the alt-text is generated from that image, where you can use as little or as much as you want.

And for those WordPress images that multiply like rabbits?
I created a virtual folder, It is a zip file that you can add to your media library. It’s set up to hold 5 folders in a category tree, they are automatically added, all you need to do is separate into the folders…

If any of these sound interesting to try, let me know here, or if you have my personal info, you can contact me that way too.

Later,

Rudy

Hey Rudy,

Good to see you back here!

The Idea Spinner sounds interesting. I’ve seen a lot of people get stuck at the “what do I even make?” stage, so anything that pushes them into output instead of overthinking is a win.

How structured are the outputs? Is it more inspiration, or does it give you something you could publish same day?

I’m always up for breaking things in the name of “testing”

Hi Rohan,

Thanks! I finally came up to breathe…lol..

Yeah, The great Idea Spinner originally was a website, and I must give props to Cassie, from WA, who came up with the url name.

I was going nowhere with my fixer guy site, and dumped it all , kept the domain…however, while working with both ChatGPT and Claude, I found a new interest, becuase I like to make stuff, and fix things….grin.

All of a sudden, I had a new purpose for the fixer guy site. I created the website only using GeneratePress premium, and some html/css. Ai did the heavy code lifting, everything else was mine.

I agree, and that’s how this was developed…people don’t always know what to do, once they have an idea…most people ever hear about is the blog, blog, blog…

I like to make checklists, and pdfs, so when this idea spinner was born, it included blog, portfolio, directory, digital products, checklists, etc.

When you select from the drop down menus, you ‘spin’ the wheel. What pops out are 3 ideas of where you could go. Don’t like any of them? Spin again.

With some selections, it will ask for a refinement.

If you would like to try it out…here’s the link: Bot Verification

I would love to hear what you think about it, any cruts are always welcome.

It’s a nice idea Rudy, I like it

Had a proper play with it just now… and yeah, this is a really nice direction.

For sparking ideas in someone who is staring at a blank canvas, this sort of thing might just give them that nudge to pursue something

How many outputs do you have? I’d say the more the merrier. I assume you used AI to create all the options?

Also… small strategic thought (this is where my brain immediately went :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

Tools like this are absolute gold for list building right now. I was reading something the other day (pretty sure it was Matt Diggity) saying that interactive tools as lead magnets are outperforming the usual PDFs by a mile.

This feels like it’s already 90% of the way there. You could package it up as an app and use it as a straight up lead magnet or get really clever and offer a free spin before the opt-in appears

You could even have a “pro” version with live “market potential” metrics or something like that!

It could be a proper little list-building asset.

One improvement idea (without seeing your code, just from using it) … Right now it gives you ideas, which is great… but I think you could increase the “stickiness” massively by adding a second step like: “Turn this into something usable”

Offer the option to expand into a blog outline or turn it into a checklist (could even use an AI API for this)

You could create something people actually come back to!

Thanks, Rohan, You gave a 90% almost done view on this!

Yes, it is a tool built for list building for the website fixer guy site. There is a CTA on my home page…Exactly why I built this (along with a few other tools…)

I think there are over 20 per each category. Since there currently isn’t an ‘other’ option, recommendations for new or added categories are accepted.

And yes, I used Claude who used my idea to create the code, html/css, and some js for the drop fields (I think).

It was created first as a tool to draw visitors to my site, and the idea for creating an app is on the table. A friend from the WA days, shared an app maker that was easy to follow.

It is already a lead magnet on my home page.
Definitely have a ‘pro version’ in the works..

There is an option with ‘turning the idea into a site’, below the results after spinning,

I would provide a website plan for them to build their own website, or they could always either hire me, or use the plan with any web designer.

This is not linked, as I’m creating plans to make your own website for each topic here. Selling the plans at $9. (If I’m speaking out of turn with pricing, let me know…)

This is ‘the vault: https://websitefixerguy.com/idea-vault/

Visitors could select a plan and follow the directions to setting up their own website.

I’d like to know what you think…

Hey Rudy,

Ahh ok, I see how it fits with the vault now :+1:

$9 is a good price point for the plans. A lot of beginners who actually want to do something with the idea would just pay a nominal fee to avoid all the headaches, I’m sure.

The only thing I’d gently push back on (purely from a conversion angle) is where the email capture sits in the flow.

At the moment, you’re giving away the best part first (the ideas), and then asking for something later. Most people will happily take the ideas and leave, never to be seen again… which is just how people behave online.

If this were mine, I’d be really tempted to flip it slightly:

  • Let them land on the tool

  • Let them feel like they’re about to get something useful

  • Then gate the result behind an email

Even something simple like:

Spin → “Nice, we’ve got your ideas ready…” → email gate → reveal results

Or even more aggressively, just put the whole tool behind the opt-in.

It sounds a bit harsh on paper, but in practice tools like this tend to convert way better when the value is just out of reach rather than already given away.

You could always soften it by showing a blurred preview of results, or giving 1 free idea, then gating the rest.

Of course, that may not be your style :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
