How Do I Sign Up to Medium?

If you want to join Medium, and potentially make money or send traffic to your website, it's very simple.

On your desktop, open your web browser and go to medium.com.

The easiest way to create an account is to use your Google ID.

Click on the Sign Up button at the top-right corner.

Select Continue with Google.

Authorize Medium to access your Google account.

You can use another option if preferred.

For example, you can sign up with an email address but do be aware you will be expected to verify this later.

And the email verification link expires after two hours and can only be used once.

It's the same process with your iOS or Android device, but you will be using the Medium app.

You can start with a free account initially but will need to upgrade to the paid membership to get the most from the platform.

I’ve dabbled a bit with Medium. Didn’t really get anything ranking yet though.

It’s good that you can link directly to affiliate partners and I saw someone churning out reviews for Clickbank products on there so kind of assumed it’s possible to make some money!

I will be adding lots of advice about Medium, it's certainly worth persevering with.

If you join their Partner Program, you can earn income through people reading your stories.

Or you can use it to send traffic to your websites/social media, and yes, you can add affiliate links.

Or do both, it's a win-win!

Glad to be here Diane 😊 I thought I might have lost touch with Partha but he saw my messages and here I am.

I'm still time poor but I will make sure I find the time to engage here on the forum and hopefully we can grow this into something really valuable for people.

@ohnoo_not_her Hmm, I looked at some other free members’ accounts, and they had filled in their About section, see the first screenshot.

And then on the second screenshot, you can see where I have added my websites in my profile bio.

@partha great,thanks! Guess I’ll just chose the informational posts first, or the short ones, otherwise I would have to look for a lot of pictures and videos still lol

@ohnoo_not_her For images, go to the article, right-click on the image and click on INSPECT.

Find the url that shows the image name, it will have “wp/upload” in the url.

Go to WordPress dashboard and then MEDIA LIBRARY and type a couple of the words from the url into the search bar, and the image will come up, click on DOWNLOAD and then it’s saved to your downloads for TODAY’s date, much easier to find.

The above process takes about 2 seconds per image.

For videos, go to your article, right-click on the video and click on “copy video url” and then when you’re on your Medium article, click your cursor where you want the video to go, click the + sign, and select the 3rd item along, “add video”, paste the video url in, and hit enter. Take about 2 seconds again per video.
