Most of my experience is in SEO (both from my corporate role and my own sites), though lately I’ve been dabbling with Pinterest traffic. I joined this forum because I’m looking to connect with other people juggling jobs, families, and online businesses. Having a place where people “get it” feels really motivating.
I’m based in New York, married, and a mom of two energetic under 10's! By day I’m a marketing manager for a SaaS company, but most evenings after bedtime I’m working on my side projects, a parenting/productivity blog and a smaller affiliate site around eco-friendly home products.
I’m excited to get involved here, in fact, I already jumped in and offered some advice on another thread (hope that wasn’t too forward for a newbie!). I’d love to learn from all of you and share what’s worked for me.
Lovely to ‘e-meet’ you - your intro really resonated with me. I’m just saying a few hello’s as Andy suggested in his new member’s post!
I’m also balancing family life with a growing interest in building something online (though I’m a few steps behind you experience-wise!).
I’m a teacher here in the UK, and now that my kids are older, I’m finally carving out some time to learn about digital marketing. I’m especially interested in the eco-friendly side of things too, so your niche caught my eye straight away.
Looking forward to learning lots here and working out this whole “online business around family life” thing
@ritap Hey Rita! Welcome to the forum. It’s great to see so many different walks of life here - I’m always amazed at how well educators transition into online writing and digital marketing. You’ve already got the storytelling and clarity part nailed just from your teaching background!
I completely relate to what you said about balancing family and building something on the side. It’s definitely a juggle, but also really rewarding when you start to see things come together bit by bit. And I love that you’re into sustainability - although I would say, from my limited research, it's a very crowded niche!
Can’t wait to hear more about what you’re experimenting with. If you ever want to chat about SEO or Pinterest, I’m happy to share what’s worked (and what hasn’t 😅).
