How do you plan to make the $2K - with ad revenue alone, or also through affiliate/product sales too?

Yes, your own product included, both ads and affiliate links can be effective, as long as there is consistent traffic.
The key is to drive targeted visitors who are genuinely interested in the content, ensuring higher engagement and conversions.

@andy When Mike sends me a message, I will be asking him for his business plan, his month-on-month projections for traffic, and how much traffic will be required for the $2k figure.
I will also need to see his research and competitor analysis, to ensure that this is viable.
Plus, exactly what the niche is, why it is both trending and evergreen, and what experience he has with the topic.
