[SEO Neo Update] 4 week check in - an actual graph for you :)

Hey gang,

More of the same this week really.

After the initial ‘novelty phase’ has now pretty much worn off., it’s down to just using SEO Neo every day to the best of my ability.

I still haven’t been brave enough to release the single spun article yet (but I will) partly because I’ve realised I can actually build a reasonably unique and high(ish) quality Web 2.0 blog network by reusing the same accounts as I’ve used in previous campaigns.

If the created account hasn’t been nuked by the site owner then Neo will add another post to the same account … otherwise it will attempt to create a new account.

This also dramatically increases the speed at which the campaigns run because account creation is a time consuming process. So if the account already exists Neo just posts and moves on.

So if you’re working in the same market, you can just add to existing Web 2.0’s which builds topical authority and begins strengthening the foundation of the entire network!

Pretty cool.

Results …

Anyway, I promised a graph and here it is …

This is the first Medium .com target I focused on (I have another one running atm).

As you can see, it jumped from Google page 3/4 up to position #5 in 9 days. Then jumped around a little bit more before settling at #5 for the last 4 days now. Let’s see if it holds.

It’s definitely been getting traffic from Google. Although not as much as the search volume numbers suggest.

Then again … #5 organic in Google now is nothing like it was just a couple of years ago. So much clutter at the top of the SERP now. AI overviews, sponsored, video carousel etc etc. And now we seem to have something called ‘What People Are Saying’ … or something like that!

I often find myself hitting ‘Page Down’ 3 times before I get to the organic listings.

:face_with_symbols_on_mouth: Google!

The very first target I used is still sitting on page 1 but is very stubbornly not moving up any further since running another campaign with more focused anchor text. This is a more competitive review search query with some weird stuff happening in the SERP.

Let’s just say there’s some very dodgy black hat techniques going on out there … some Ninja Forms hack which I’m seeing quite a lot now. Clever buggers.

Still seeing the Amazon S3 spam too. That continues to coin it for a certain stealthy someone (pretty sure that’s a lone operator - could be wrong). I think they had a very happy Christmas!

Nothing much else to report.

I’m gearing up for the local SEO campaign. That takes a bit more setting up. I know what I’ll be doing in the evenings this week!

Onwards! …

That’s pretty good - from ~30 to ~5 in less than a month. Keep us posted on how this does :+1:
